1. The counselor shall be selected by a committee of the past three (3) recipients of the award- chaired by the immediate past recipient
2. The recipient shall
A. Be a paid and active member of the OCSCA
B. Be a professional counselor in Ocean County
C. Have exhibited sustained service to the association
i. Service shall include such areas as:
a. OCSCA Executive Board
b. Committee chair or member
c. Professional development attendee
ii. Service might include positions in state, national or allied counseling associations
3. The recipient should be a counselor recognizable to the members of the association as a role model or an inspiration for counselors
4. A candidate may be suggested with supporting evidence to the chairperson by any member of the Ocean County School Counselors Association or by the candidate’s principal or supervisor.
